Bike It Crew!
Bike It Crew members for 2023 to 2024 are:
Our School Council aims to encourage our children to:
- Develop confidence and responsibility and make the most of their abilities
- Prepare them to play an active role as citizens
- Develop healthy, safer lifestyles
- Develop good relationships and respect the differences between people
- To have a “voice” and to share their opinions and ideas with others
Why?
The Bike It Crew share the benefits of cycling with the whole school. They learn about bike maintenance, how to be safe while riding a bike and how cycling can make you active, fit and healthy.
Our Bike It Crew aims to ensure our children have:
- A good knowledge of bike maintenance.
- A developed understanding of cycle safety.
- The benefits of riding a bike.
- More confidence when cycling.
Our Bike It Crew should encourage pupils to develop:
- A sense of ownership over their own bikes, scooters, rollerblades etc.
- An understanding of how to be safe.
- A responsibility towards the school community and environment
Our Bike It Crew should give pupils the experience of:
- Planning, organising and monitoring small projects
- Speaking and listening skills
- Sharing knowledge with others
- Developing communication skills
Elections:
Class elections will be held every year so that different representatives can put forward their ideas as well as developing the full potential of the Bike It Crew.
Organisation:
- Two representatives from Year 6
- Link Staff Member - Mrs H. Wells
- Link Governor - Mrs M. Williams (Safeguarding Link)
- Monthly meetings
Link between the School and Bike It Crew:
It is the role of the Crew members to report back to their peers and inform them of any updates or event arising.
