Hi everyone! Thank you to for sending me your photos/videos for the Virtual Sports Day! I’m glad you all enjoyed the challenges!

Below is your second set of missions for our topic of ‘Bend & Flow’. I have enjoyed seeing and marking all of your tasks on this topic so far; keep up the good work!

Within your set of missions this week is an ‘English Extension Sheet’ which will help you with one of your missions. The extension mission sheet will focus on ‘persuasive writing’. Instead of a Numeracy Challenge this week, I have included a ‘Capacity Problem Solving’ mission for you to complete. All resources needed for these missions are included within the document.

I have also updated this page with everyone’s work from all your mission tasks so far. All you need to do is scroll down the page above each set of missions and you will see everyone’s amazing work! Please continue to keep in touch as it is always lovely to hear from you!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all safe and well.

We have a new topic for the next couple of weeks which is called ‘Bend & Flow’. This topic is a Geography focus, but you will be developing your skills in other areas too. This topic allows to you to learn about flooding, drought and erosion; significant rivers of Wales and the World; the physical features of rivers, including the water cycle; pollution of rivers and much more!

Instead of a Numeracy Challenge this week I have included a ‘RE Extension Mission Sheet’ which focuses on our RE topic of ‘God’ for this term and our School Value of ‘Trust’.

I am enjoying keeping in touch with you all and seeing all the lovely things you are doing at home! Please continue to keep sharing your work and activities by emailing me at DavieK926@hwbcymru.net.

Take care & stay safe,

Miss Davies

Dosbarth Miss Davies Year 4 Video

Still image for this video
I was sent this lovely video from Isabella to share with you all.

Friday 1st May 2020

Hello everyone! I hope you are still keeping safe and well.

Here are some inspiring quotes:

“The most effective way to do it, is to do it.”

“No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed.”

“A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves.”

“You know the more one does the more one can do.”

All spoken by Amelia Earhart, who your missions will focus on this week. Amelia Earhart is a famous historical figure and has inspired many people. Maybe if you finish your missions, you can look into other historical figures and complete similar tasks to find more about them. I would love to know who else you have researched!

Thank you again to everyone for keeping in touch, it’s lovely to hear off you and see all the amazing work that you are doing! Please continue to let me know how you are getting on and I’m always here to help if needed. You can contact me through email DaviesK926@hwbcymru.net.

Good Luck & Stay Safe!

'Other Faiths: Islam' Missions

Friday 24th April 2020

I hope you are all safe and well.

I have a very 'Top Secret' Mission for Dosbarth Miss Davies! Are you up for it?

Best of Luck!

Take care,

Miss Davies.

Friday 17th April 2020

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Easter and are continuing to stay safe and well.

Again, thank you for keeping in touch as it is always lovely to hear off you all. Keep up the hard work!

The next few set of missions I am setting are based on our ‘Other Faiths’ topic which we would have covered this week if we were in class. The focus is on the faith of Islam. To help you learn and develop your knowledge of this faith, I have set you some missions to complete.

As well as the Numeracy Challenge, I have also included an extension of ‘English Missions’ if you would like to complete which focuses on story writing (again, what we would currently be focusing on in class). These missions allow you to read and develop ideas of stories, plan your own ideas and then write your own adventure story.

Remember to access the correct files for your year group and if there are any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Good luck & Stay Safe!

Monday 6th April 2020

Hi everyone! I have received some feedback from a few of you and it seems like you are enjoying the technology/ICT missions. I have created a class account on a website called ‘Scratch’ where you can explore some of your coding skills. If you click on the ‘Ideas’ section on the webiste, there are some tutorials there to help you.

If you send me an email I can share with you our class username and password, this will allow me to see what projects you have been creating! Or you can create your own account if you wish.

Follow the link below to get started!

Enjoy,

Miss K. Davies.

Friday 3rd April 2020.

I hope that you are all keeping safe and well!

Thank you to those of you who have been keeping in touch by email, it's nice to know that you are continuing to work hard during these very strange times!

Please find below your missions for the next two weeks. Make sure that you access the correct ones for your year group! You will also see that there is an extra Maths/Numeracy Mission to complete.

Year 5: Each Maths/Numeracy mission consists of 4 pages. You must make sure that you access these pages in the correct order as each task gradually gets more difficult and follows on from the previous one!

Year 4: Please follow the pages within the pdf file.

Good luck & Stay Safe!

Friday 27th March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

With the concerns over the Coronavirus outbreak and how this might impact your child’s learning, we are offering some ideas to continue their education during any potential absences.

We also appreciate that keeping children engaged in their learning whilst at home is not going to be easy and so we have prepared content for your child that can be completed both independently and with adult support.

Our class page will be updated fortnightly with ‘Missions’ and Numeracy challenges. I would like to encourage pupils to keep in touch on how they are getting on with their missions and if pupils have any questions regarding their tasks, they can contact me through Hwb (DaviesK926@hwbcymru.net).

If pupils complete their missions and numeracy tasks, you can also find a variety of useful resources online.

These websites may also be useful:

Good Luck everyone and most importantly stay safe!

Kind Regards

Miss K.Davies

Please find below resources for home learning. Please ensure that your child follows the correct link to their work!

This year children will have fortnightly spelling investigations. Below are updates of spelling lists that the children will be learning.

Autumn Term Homework Menu

Please see below of this term's homework menu. Children have been given their Hwb login cards to access the Hwb website at home.

Welcome!

I hope you have all had a wonderful Summer holiday and I would like to welcome you back to a new school year and a new class. I’m very excited to see you all.

The start of term is always very busy. So here are some helpful pieces of information:

  • Children will benefit from having the following stationary for daily use in the classroom:
    • Black pen,
    • Pencil
    • Ruler
    • Rubber/Sharpener
    • Glue stick.
  • Children are asked to bring a reading book of their choice in every day for silent reading during registration.
  • PE will be on Friday: Please ensure that P.E kits are in school every Friday. P.E kits will be taken home at the end of the day due to a lack of storage space.
  • Please ensure to bring in written consent if you wish for your child to be collected by another adult or parent.

Please do not hesitate to come and see me if you have any concerns regarding your child or if there are any queries.
