Road Safety Team!

Road Safety Team members for 2023 to 2024 are:

Our Road Safety Team aims to encourage our children to:

  • Develop confidence and responsibility and make the most of their abilities
  • Prepare them to play an active role as citizens
  • Develop healthy, safer lifestyles
  • Develop good relationships and respect the differences between people
  • To have a “voice” and to share their opinions and ideas with others

Why?

The Road Safety Team share the importance of being safe with the whole school.  They learn about how to be safe when out and about, including how to cross the road, road signs and cycle proficiency.

Our Road Safety Team should encourage pupils to develop:

  • A sense of ownership over their own safety.
  • To have confidence when knowing how to cross a road safely
  • A responsibility towards the school community and environment
  • Ownership and a degree of control over their responsibilities and equipment (Hi Viz Vests etc).
  • To encourage more walking to and from school to have less traffic outside our school, making Bryncoch a healthier environment.
  •

Our Bike It Crew should give pupils the experience of:

  • Planning, organising and monitoring small projects
  • Speaking and listening skills
  • Sharing knowledge with others
  • Developing communication skills
